Thank you for using the pages or participating in my
research. This privacy statement concerns the web sites belonging to Nigel
Bradley, most of which are hosted at the University of Westminster. The web
pages include questionnaires, information and registration forms.
·
The pages help me to conduct research for academic purposes and
also to share the knowledge gained. The University of Westminister "affirms
that academic staff have freedom within the law to question and test received
wisdom, and to put forward new ideas."
·
I guarantee that in all circumstances identities of individual
respondents and their answers will be treated as confidential
and will be used only for research purposes unless you expressly request or
permit disclosure to a third party.
·
I will not mislead you.
·
Co-operation is Voluntary at all times. Personal
information will not be sought from you or about you, without your prior
knowledge and agreement.
·
Withdrawal -At any stage you can refuse to
answer specific questions. You can also ask me to destroy or delete part or all
of the record of your interview or registration form. Wherever reasonable and
practical I will carry out such a request.
·
Invisible processing - At present this
information may be detected: the time/date you responded, hit counters on most
web pages. Out of office responses from your email address may be analysed. In
some cases your IP number may be noted in order to examine double replies. I
automatically capture information about your browser type in order to deliver
images best suited to your software.
·
Cookies - It is not my policy to use cookies.
·
Children - Generally individuals aged below 18
years of age are not invited to participate in my research. Screening questions
and procedures will be put into place to ensure they are not included. In
studies which DO include children (e.g. School-leavers or handwriting studies)
I will seek the verifiable permission of a parent or legal guardian before
research commences. Because children may access my web pages any "inappropriate"
content has been avoided. I receive email questions from children who themselves
are researching specific topics at school, replies are normally prepared and
copies are kept electronically. These Email addresses are not used again for any
purpose.
·
Security measures. Only certain employees
have access to the information you provide. They have access only for data
analysis and quality control purposes.
·
Unsolicited mail - I will not send unsolicited
mail or pass on your email address to others for this purpose. If I want to send
you future email, I will ask your explicit permission for this.
·
